Fiona Kerr Gedson

Fiona works from her home near Opotiki, in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, where she lives with her two daughters, her two sons having recently left home.

Fiona works predominately with pheasant, peacock and turkey feathers, meticulously creating stunning patterns. This work allows her to reflect and pay honor to the things that are of importance to her.

Fiona is well represented throughout New Zealand, and has been included in group exhibitions in France, Los Angeles and Japan.

'Her childhood, her environment, the Maori women who taught her to weave and her precious family ties are all expressed in her art, in a unique mix of traditional skills and contemporary vision.'
