Ricky Drew

 

Ricky Drew is an Otago based self taught artist. He specialises in high quality contempory realism. His preferred medium is Acrylic. 

 

Ricky says "I love to paint, in fact ever since I can remember, I've always been painting or drawing.

My passion for art exceeded my expectations when I sold my first painting nearly 10 years ago at

the Roslyn Gallery in my home town of Dunedin.

Over the years I've developed my own style and look by altering dark and light colours to create

a mood I'm after and accentuating shadows for the right effect."

 

He has been in a number of art exhibitions, including: 

Dunedin City Art Awards,

Edinbinburgh Art Awards (winning 'Best Small Painting') 

Otago Art Society Awards (winning the Lula Currie award).
